Australian sportsmen are joining Call To Arms to help tackle their toughest opponent yet - cancer.

Sporting clubs are invited to nominate a day to hold a Call To Arms match where players wear a yellow armband at their game to help raise awareness and funds for men's cancer - a disease that effects 1 in 2 men by the age of 85.

Clubs are encouraged to run fundraising activities leading up to the day and on the day and donate to Cancer Council. All funds raised through Call To Arms goes towards helping to prevent cancers in men, finding new treatments and funding support programs for men in need.

Professional sporting clubs taking part in Call To Arms this year include the Essendon Football Club, Adelaide Crows, West Tigers, Adelaide United Football Club and Socceroos star, Tim Cahill.
