Whether you choose to show a little pink sparkle with our diamante pin, put on a Jeanswest designer charity tee or dangle a pink wristband, you will be supporting the 1 in 9 Australian women diagnosed with breast cancer*.
Pink Ribbon Day, on Monday 27nd October, is an annual event that aims to increase awareness about breast cancer and raise funds for breast cancer research, education and support. The pink ribbon is an international symbol of support and recognition for the many women who have been affected by breast cancer.
According to The Cancer Council Australia’s CEO, Professor Ian Olver: “A diagnosis of breast cancer is a traumatic experience and can severely disrupt a woman’s family and working life. However, by participating in events like Pink Ribbon Day, the public can help The Cancer Council provide support services to improve the quality of life for those affected by breast cancer.”
“In addition to our support and education programs, funds raised by Pink Ribbon Day will allow us to continue to fund vital research into the causes of and treatments for breast cancer, so we can continue to improve patient outcomes and survival rates.“
